This page is designed to share emergency resources and important information affecting the IDD community.

Current Emergency: “The Perfect Storm.” Due to unprecedented challenges related to the implementation of the new Care and Case Management (CCM) system, COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Unwind, shifts in Case Management Redesign (CMRD), and the ongoing workforce crisis, there is now system-wide instability which could negatively impact Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) case management and service delivery in Colorado.

Provisional payments in the form of short-term advances to providers who demonstrate the greatest need will be issued to ensure that the most vulnerable members continue to receive the support necessary within their communities.

CCM: Phase One of the new Care and Case Management (CCM) system went live for case managers on July 5, 2023. The CCM system consolidates functions that currently exist across the BUS and DDDWeb systems and adds other functionality.

PHE Unwind: May 11, 2023, marks the end of the federal COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) that began in March 2020. HCPF Source.

PHE Unwind: Preparing for renewals: Understanding the renewal process. HCPF Source.

PHE Unwind: Health First Colorado and CHP+ have returned to normal eligibility renewal processes. Noticing began in March of 2023 for renewals due May 2023. HCPF will take 12 months (14 months including noticing) to complete renewals for each of the approximately 1.7 million people currently enrolled.
